Both my representational and abstract paintings are intuitive, drawing inspiration from the colors and forms I observe in nature at the seaside. In both styles, color remains my central focus.
The image featured here captures the shifting tones of twilight by the sea, presented with a minimalism influenced by Japanese aesthetics. The layered cobalt colors evoke a quiet, atmospheric presence, allowing the scene to resonate with both simplicity and depth.
My two styles engage in a dialogue that deepens my artistic practice. Experiencing them side by side reveals new insights and connections, furthering my understanding of how they influence and inform each other.
I hope you can join me for the show in Chelsea, NYC on Saturday November 9, 4-6pm. It would be wonderful to see you there!
All the best, Casey
