Sunset Waiting for the Full Moon

Sunset Waiting for Full Moon by Casey Chalem Anderson 30 x 40 inches oil/canvas

Have you ever noticed how much more vivid the color of the sky is near the time of the full moon? Colors appear brighter, more intense even if it is a bit overcast.

This painting is from the time of the October Harvest moon. The sunset was happening in the Western sky, while the sky to the East was dark and clouded with a charcoal grey. As I looked North to the Towd Point land spits, the color was gorgeous. Sometimes it is hard to believe that the show of color is real.

Until next time,

Casey
