Hunter’s Moon Sag Harbor , New York
Hunter’s Moon
I didn’t want to miss it. As soon as I returned from the city I put my camera in the car so I wouldn’t forget. I was on the look-out for the Hunter’s Moon, the common name for the 2nd full moon of Autumn.
Anticipation did not prepare me for the intensity of the moment. As I drove toward Sag Harbor over the small bridge that leads to Main Street I gasped. I saw a large orb of pinkish cipro orange light hanging low against a twilight blue sky. Turning left onto the wharf it was still there. A supernatural site to take in, affirming the true meaning of awesome.
Until next time,
Casey
Through October I will be donating 10% of my sales to the Peconic Land Trust. I am a founding member of Plein Air Peconic, the artist group dedicated to helping the Peconic Land Trust conserve the natural beauty of the East End of Long Island.
