Blue Heron 36 x 48 inches oil/canvas by Casey Chalem Anderson
This serene painting captures a quiet, reflective moment in a familiar landscape to me, a view from the bridge on Towd Point. The blue heron truly lives here, taking refuge under the bridge when he’s in the neighborhood. I’ve seen him move gracefully across the sky, his elegant flight adding a gentle moment of movement to the peaceful stillness, inviting contemplation.
The open sky, drifting clouds, and smooth, reflective water encourage us to slow down and notice the natural beauty around us. There’s something inherently calming about water, whether we’re gazing at it or simply listening to it flow. Pausing to appreciate scenes like this can help quiet our minds, steady our breathing, and reconnect us to a sense of peacefulness and clarity.
Enjoy!
Warmly, Casey
