CEO/Founder of Nacelle, “Work At Home”                      Oil Painting by Casey Chalem Anderson

It’s so hard to resist. Even in these most serious of times, I find myself endlessly curious about the insides of other peoples’ homes.  I’ve always taken a keen interest in the art on the walls on TV or in a movie. What is the art telling me about the story?

A large modern canvas with a full explosion of color might say “forward thinking, an innovator”. A framed landscape in oil can say “trust worthy traditionalist”. A sports poster says, “I’m a huge sports fan and I haven’t really ever thought about what I like in art”. Now that we are all working from home, and appearing daily on our own screens, what story is that art on the walls behind you communicating?

What are you revealing without having to say a word? You want art that is meaningful, something that nurtures your spirit, something authentic that humanizes you. No one want to do business or be friends with a robot.

Maybe the art you choose reminds you of a wonderful memory. When you look at it, not only do you remember, you are momentarily transported to the beach. Maybe you prefer an abstract canvas, where colors arranged in a pleasing way hold an indescribable energy.

When you show me the art on your walls you are revealing what’s important to you and what you value. A painting that is big enough to have presence and fits the space is perfect . Contemporary framing signals forward thinking while the wood conveys warmth.   The owner gets to enjoy the painting on approaching the work area, but he is focusing on his client during his zoom calls. The painting behind him never distracts. It subtly communicates an elevated atmosphere for the viewer. A painting of blue water with a long horizontal sets a tone of stability and expansiveness- essential qualities in business and in life. It’s modern, sophisticated and timeless.

If you are in the East Hampton area on Saturday I will be taking part in a drive by art exhibit. Over 40 artists will have their work displayed on their lawn or driveway for drivers to see at an appropriate social distance

Please stop by this SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM to ART APART @ 25 LANDING LANE, EAST HAMPTON (Artist Beth Barry’s Driveway)

I’LL BE SHOWING A FEW BRAND NEW PAINTINGS MADE DURING THIS COVID ERA– more info: https://artapart2020.wixsite.com/

All the very best, Casey
