Napeague Harbor Oil on canvas, 24in x 36in

“Napeague Harbor with Approaching Storm” oil/canvas, 24in x 36in (floating wood frame with silver edge)

Watching an incoming storm over the water is thrilling and gorgeous. You can often be lucky enough to catch the experience at the seashore in the Hamptons.  The storm clouds in the distance hover menacingly, but in the foreground sun shines down, lighting up vibrant colors—luscious greens, sparkling blues, and peachy pinks.

But the ocean waves and serene waters I paint aren’t just pretty pictures. They reflect our deep emotional connection to the beach. Why do we love it so deeply? How does it change us inside?

The sea is a metaphor for life—unpredictable and often intense. Yet the tides can be accurately predicted to the minute. Looking out from the shoreline always snaps me into the present, filling me with awe.

I’m devoted to exploring how we are transformed by the sea. The beach awakens something profound within us, making us feel more present and alive. At the water’s edge, we experience a change we can’t get enough of.

Enjoy it all in the painting and in real life,

Casey
