Deep Lavender by the Bay oil/canvas 24 x 36 inches by Casey Chalem Anderson

I waited all year to get to the lavender fields on the North Fork in East Marion. You must time your visit to coincide with the blooming cycle, or you could be disappointed. The smell of fresh lavender infused the air, and I could smell it as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The purple shades are vibrant, and the greens are like emerald jewels.

This will likely be the last weekend to fully enjoy it this year as they cut the flowers at peak bloom to make dried bunches. The painting, however, you can enjoy all year round.

See my work (including the Lavender By the Bay) at Romany Kramoris Gallery through July 28, 41 Main Street Sag Harbor (open many evenings) https://kramorisgallery.com/
