”
Sudden Shower Over Towd Point” 11 x 14 in oil/wood
In my new piece, ‘Sudden Shower Over Towd Point,’ I’ve captured that exact moment when a rainstorm sweeps in over the North Sea landscape. Even with the rain streaking down, there’s still a dance of light on the horizon that makes the whole scene feel alive. It’s a small 11×14 oil, but it holds a big sky and a lot of atmosphere. I hope you enjoy this little window into North Sea’s ever-changing beauty!
I found inspiration in the way Japanese woodblock artists depict rain. Their subtle, rhythmic lines helped me think about how to convey the atmosphere of a storm passing over our own local landscape. Even in a small piece, there’s a sense of timelessness captured between nature and art that I love exploring.
Until next time,
Casey
