“The Footbridge at Sunset” 48 x 36 inches, oil on canvas by Casey Chalem Anderson
There is nothing like a painting for me. Of course, having devoted my life to dipping a brush into paint and applying it to a canvas, it’s no surprise that I would say that. The irony is that what you are seeing here is only a screen image of my latest work. Yes, something still reverberates, but you’ll have to visit my studio to see it in person and drink it in.
Make no mistake, the human touch in painting is irreplaceable. In a world that is all digital, all the time, there is something deeply special about putting paint on canvas by hand and then having it resonate. Each brushstroke carries intention and emotion, a direct connection between my hand, my heart, and the surface. For those who have stood in front of any painting and allowed themselves to take it in, you know there is a living texture and presence that simply cannot be translated through a screen. It is a reminder that art is a physical, human experience.
Whether you are an artist or an art lover, let’s remember the beauty of those brushstrokes and the warmth of something made by hand. I can’t wait to share more art with you in 2026!
Warmly,
Casey
